The Maker - Zealous Creative

The Maker is a gorgeous stop motion animation that uses beautifully crafted models and backgrounds, in which you can see the time and effort that was poured into the short.
The story of the animation follows a victorian styled, sewn rabbit that is bewildered over the book he is holding. He soon pieces it together and begins to create another rabbit, in which he plays his violin to bring her to life. Soon after the rabbit erodes and crumbles to dust, leaving the newly brought rabbit with the task of creating another.
The style of the stop motion suits the animation well through the aged and sepia toned wash that engulfs the short, breathing a victorian theme into animation
This video inspires me through how beautifully composed the short is, this can be seen through the storyline, the model design and the backgrounds.

David Foldvari

I love Foldvari's work, his work just contains so much detail and meaning that it becomes powerful and striking to the viewer. I fell in love with his work as soon as I saw his "Mask" illustration, the piece captured the anonymous identity of social networking and revealed the mask beneath, an entity that corrupts and steals information, lures you in.
Foldvari uses political influences within his work, which he represents in a graffiti, grunge and detailed blend of characters that absorb splashes of colour.
Foldvari is always a main source of inspiration for me, whether its through his art form and composition or his articulation of his themes.

Chris Riddell

Chris Riddell was one of the first artists that inspired me to draw, to bring my experiences, ideas and thoughts to life through illustration. (I first found his work in the books "Edge Chronicles" written by Paul Steward) Riddell's illustrations were so detailed and captured the emotions of the characters displayed that I wanted to create something even better, and that was the start of my artist path.
Not only did Riddell illustrate for Edge Chronicles but other books too, such as Coraline and The Graveyard Book.

I love his illustrations mainly through his use of line and how he portrays the character, the expression he draws seems to just tell the emotion perfectly without the aid of text.
